TAIWAN

Oh hoo hoo hoo. I sound like a monkey. Anyway this is my second post today. Previous one is the day and this one is about my trip to taiwan.

Not posting up pictures cos i just came home at 12 + yesterday and pics are still in the camera. :) anyway there are so many of them. i don’t think i want to post them up.

Day 1 (13th Dec): Singapore to Kaohsiung. Flight at 1:05 pm. Or was it 2:05? Arrived at airport T3 to walk around and took skytrain to T2 to check in. That was at about 11+ am. Met the tour company boss to settle stuff and met some tour group people. Flight for about 4 hours. Stoned and slacked and watched tv and ate in the plane. Reached less developed taiwan kaohsiung airport and got together with the tour group and guide. The guide is called Mr. Jiang. Bought a bottled drink for about  NT $30. Haha. Sounds so expensive.

Headed to nightmarket and bought loads of crazy fatty food. Deep fried cheese-stuffed balls and papaya milk. But the stall owners were really kind. Next we went to Love river for a boat ride. Nothing spectacular. The thing i remember is their dirty toilets.

Day 2: Kaohsiung. woke up super early. no choice; tour is tour. Actually i don’t remember everything that happened on day 2. Just knew we went to a farm for farmstay. Very chilly. We saw this pig family. They had very cute patterns on their backs. They were really fat and smelly too.

Later we hiked to the hill top. Nice view. Then we rode on this flying fox swing like thing. Super ssshhhiiooookkk. I went first, out of so many of them, around 30+ to 40 people. It was the most enjoyable thing that day, i decided to cross the swaying rope back for a second round.

Next: hot spring. There was scorching hot, mid-flame and brrrr-ing. Accidentally jumped into the extreme cold one and almost got brain-freeze. Jumped into the one beside it which was the extreme hot one. I got  a shock of my life. I felt like i was about to be cooked. So i gave up and settled for medium temperature. It was just fine.

Made my first friend, Jonathan. Bought some souvenirs.

Day 3: Taizhing. Woke up numb from head to toe. The cold slowed down my washing up process so we went to the breakfast place late. Headed off to alisan. bus ride super boring. And alisan was freezing. I wore 5 layers of clothing. I ended up walking like a penguin. Made a new friend after lunch, Angela.

Walked through this weird man-made garden. Bla bla bla…. then other stuff happened but i forgot. After the walk, we bought some taiwanese goodies. Eat their bbq-ed pork, i think its tasty. Our new hotel had a hot spring but i didn’t go in this time. Heheh.

Day 4: Theme park. Too much to be mentioned. Went on some lame rides and some other not so lame ones like roller coaster and viking ship. My brother and i rode carribean splash 5 times! And there was this friendly little schoolgirl that we talked to. Or we tried to talk to her, but our chinese was so ridiculously lousy we couldn’t really answer any of her questions. Next we went onto UFO gyro drop. Man, that is the most shuang ride of the entire theme park. There were lame moments too though, The best roller coaster, Mayan Adventure, was under construction. How awesomely convinient. -.-

Anway, we did have a good time there. I forgot what we did for the rest of the day. Night market at night.

Day 5: Taipei. Ocean park. saw weird sea creatures and funny performances by sealions and dolphins. I got a chance to snap a pic with this snotty, stanky sealion. I bought the pic for S$10.

Later we went to different sights. I made a new friend called Sherylynn who is 7 years old. And she already has her own handphone and DS lite.

Day 6: Taipei. Sights here, sights there. I don’t remember what i did. But i remember we went to a night market. And i don’t remember whether it was day 5 or 6 that we were supposed to go see taipei 101. Sadly, we didn’t get to cos we were short of time. How horrible.

Day 7:  Kenting. I really don’t remember anything. Except that i learnt how to blow bubbles using bubblegum. Haha. I need to look at the pics to remind myself what happened but im too lazy to get the cam right now. Made friends with the driver’s daughter, aged 7. She is super cute too, like Sherylynn.

Day 8: Kaohsiung. Last and saddest day of my life. Sightseeing and go-kart. Damn shiok. Nothing like escape theme park. :) Shopping mall was the last thing. Bought myself a pair of shoes. The driver’s daughter rode the ferris wheel and i tried a candy apple for the first time in my life. Angela spent her time at toys r us, a beetle shop and at the arcade playing air hockey and bball. At the airport, driver’s daughter cried. Poor thing. I was feeling almost devastated. I know that sounds lame. How can only leaving a country be devastating. But i feel like that everytime i end a trip. I also felt like that when olympics was over.

I would have cried too, but i didn’t have any tears cos i forgot to put my eyedrop medication the last night and that morning. Bought last minute chewing gum and waited for the flight.

Goodbyes were the hardest thing. I might have looked like  i wouldn’t miss my friends but i did. And i still do. It was a good trip, mind-relaxing but body-breaking. Made few good friends and some acquaintances (adults and teens). Overall, the food was good. That was what i went there for in the first place anyway. I don’t believe im writing this but i miss taiwan. I miss everything, food, shopping, alisan, sights, tour group, annoying flies and smelly toilets.
